JDH912 Epoxy Potable Water Tank Coating

Product Description

JDH912 is a two-component, solvent-free, polyamine-cured epoxy potable water tank coating designed as a high-build lining for properly prepared tank interiors. It is intended for project-specific coating systems where corrosion protection, immersion resistance, cleanability, curing control, and drinking-water documentation are required.

Use of JDH912 for potable-water service must be confirmed against the latest Product Data Sheet, Safety Data Sheet, certification documents, approved film thickness, cure schedule, water temperature, tank substrate, and destination regulations. Do not substitute a general industrial epoxy for a potable-water-approved system.

Typical Applications

  • Marine and industrial potable water tanks where current approval and project requirements are satisfied.
  • Grey-water and selected storage tanks after the service medium is reviewed.
  • Properly prepared carbon steel and other compatible substrates confirmed by the technical specification.
  • Newbuilding, refurbishment, and localized repair projects using an approved compatible system.

System Role

JDH912 is the primary tank-lining product. The need for a separate primer, stripe coat, multiple full coats, or a specialty substrate primer depends on the tank material, surface preparation, existing coating, and project specification. Confirm the complete system before ordering.

Information Required for Product Selection

  • Tank substrate, capacity, geometry, and existing lining condition.
  • Service medium and operating water temperature.
  • Required drinking-water standard, certificate, flag, class, or owner specification.
  • Surface-preparation standard, profile, soluble-salt limit, and repair percentage.
  • Application method, ventilation, temperature, humidity, and available schedule.
  • Target DFT, number of coats, holiday testing, cure, disinfection, and commissioning plan.
  • Project area, required quantity, packaging, destination, and delivery date.

Application and Inspection

Apply only under the current TDS and approved method statement. Confined-space controls, steel repairs, abrasive preparation, dust and salt removal, climate monitoring, exact mixing, pot-life control, stripe coating, wet- and dry-film-thickness measurement, cure verification, holiday testing, repairs, disinfection, flushing, and water-quality acceptance should be documented before the tank returns to service.

Read the potable water tank coating application guide for the complete field process.

Safety and Certification

Potable-water approval is product-specific and conditional. Confirm the current official listing and certificate for the exact product, color, thickness, cure conditions, and intended market. See the potable water tank coating safety and standards guide for documentation and release controls.
